The joint-stock company Branko was established in 1969 and its name consists of the initial letters of Slovak cities: BRA-Bratislava, N-Nitra and KO-Košice. In the past, BRANKO was engaged in the breeding of guinea fowls, grouse, rabbits, pigeons, foxes, minks and turkeys, simultaneously achieving self-sufficiency in the production of eggs and poultry meat. Nowadays we specialize in the breeding of turkeys, specifically the heavy breed BIG 6. We provide our customers turkey hatching eggs and day-old turkeys.
BRANKO Nitra, a.s. has been involved in the special agricultural sector for more than 50 years - breeding of turkeys and the supply of hatching eggs and day- old turkeys. Our specialization is the heavy breed BIG 6. The demand on the Slovak market is mainly represented by small farmers. The Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary are our long-term stable partners. Our other clients are located, e.g. in Russia, Romania or Ukraine.
One of the most important factors in our successful farming is the quality of the parent flock. The parent flock BIG 6 comes from the United Kingdom from the partner company Aviagen Turkeys. Cooperation with this company guarantees us the top quality of our turkey hatching eggs and day- old turkeys.
Currently we have our own hatchery and 6 farms, of which 4 are production and two are breeding farms. Our breeding and production is a subject to strict veterinary control and complies with applicable regulations within the EU. Our hatchery, transport as well as the Cabaj and Podhorany farms hold the German QS quality certificate.
Our company produces approximately 7.5 million hatching eggs annually, which are available to our customers. We hatch BIG 6 day old turkeys all year round. We provide our customers with complete technological fattening process and a free consulting service. We transport hatching eggs and turkeys in our special air-conditioned vehicles directly to customers.
OUR VISION
Our breeding and production is a subject to strict veterinary control and complies with applicable regulations within the EU. We use only high quality feed rich in vitamins and minerals. Branko a.s. is the holder of the international quality certificate according to ISO 9001: 2000.
OUR TEAM
Our employees are highly qualified employees with many years of experience who are specialists in the industry. We also work with external professionals and participate in agricultural and food fairs on the Slovak and also on the international market.
OUR FARMS
Branko's production and breeding farms are located in a beautiful environment in southwestern Slovakia in the Nitra region. Strict safety and health restrictions are ensured on all our farms.
